Quick answer
Can you buy an anonymous eSIM?
No. Mobile networks still see device and subscription identifiers and approximate cell location. UnlistedSIM sells an eSIM without ID or email from $1.09, reducing the personal information requested at checkout. Updated October 2026: crypto payment records remain public, account and order records still exist, and the eSIM does not itself provide an end-to-end VPN.
What does buying without ID change?
| Buy without an ID document or a selfie | Possible: UnlistedSIM asks for neither |
|---|---|
| Buy without an email or a phone number | Possible: a random account number is the login; adding an email later is optional |
| Pay in crypto | Possible: Bitcoin (BTC), Tether (USDT), USD Coin (USDC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), Litecoin (LTC) |
| Pay in Monero (XMR) at UnlistedSIM | Not possible: we don't accept it |
| Hide your device identifier (IMEI) from the network | Not possible with any SIM or eSIM |
| Hide your approximate location from the network | Not possible while the phone is connected |
| Encrypt your traffic with the eSIM | Not possible: an eSIM does not itself provide an end-to-end VPN |
| Erase a crypto payment | Not possible: public blockchains are permanent |
Why is no SIM or eSIM anonymous?
A mobile network authenticates the subscription and serves the device through nearby cells. This creates identifiers, connection records and an approximate location whether the seller collected a passport or not. A new eSIM changes a subscription, not the phone’s hardware identifiers.
A purchase without ID reduces one source of personal data at the seller. It does not guarantee that other records cannot be linked to a person. Payment records, a previously used phone and the accounts used online can each provide separate links. See the full visibility table.
What can you really buy online without ID?
A data eSIM with no identity check, no email and a crypto payment. At UnlistedSIM, a no-ID eSIM seller paid in crypto, the purchase works like this:
- You get a random account number. It is your login: no email or phone number is asked. Adding an email in the client area later is optional.
- You top up a prepaid balance in crypto (BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC), from $10.
- You buy an eSIM from the balance. Plans start at $1.09; every price is on the pricing page.
- The QR code and the activation code appear in your account as soon as the eSIM is ready.
That is a private checkout. It is not network anonymity. Other sellers also sell without ID, and some of them accept Monero, which we don't. See no-KYC eSIM sellers compared and what “no ID” covers, level by level.
What still identifies a phone with a no-ID eSIM?
Six things. A no-ID purchase hides none of them from the party that sees it.
What identifies a phone, and who sees it
| Identifier | What it is | Who sees it | Hidden by a no-ID purchase? |
|---|---|---|---|
| IMEI | The phone's own serial number, sent to the network when it connects | The visited network | No: it belongs to the phone, whatever eSIM you install |
| IMSI and ICCID | The subscription identity in the eSIM profile (IMSI) and the profile's serial number (ICCID) | The networks; we keep the ICCID with your order | No, but at our end it is linked to an account number, not to a name |
| Cell location | The cells (antennas) your phone uses, which give an approximate position | The visited network | No: it is how the network delivers data |
| Payment trail | The amount, the time and the sending address of your crypto payment | Anyone, on the public blockchain; the exchange you paid from | No: our checkout is private, the blockchain is public |
| IP address | The address your traffic leaves to the internet from | Every website and app you use | No: it belongs to the network that routes your traffic |
| Accounts you sign into | Email, messaging, social media and banking apps | Each of those services | No: signing in tells them who you are |
The full table, party by party, with what each one keeps and for how long, is on who sees what.
Why doesn't UnlistedSIM call its eSIM anonymous?
Because it would be false. We hold records: your account number and balance, your orders with their ICCIDs, the status and data use of each eSIM as reported by our partner network, and your top-ups with their transaction IDs. We also keep the list of devices logged in to your account, and any optional email, password or two-factor setting you add. The networks hold device (IMEI) and location records. We answer only legally binding orders under the law of Panama, where the operating company is registered.
So we state exactly what is true:
- no ID, no selfie and no email at checkout;
- crypto only, and no Monero;
- the exact list of what we keep, on what we collect;
- what we can and cannot hand over, on law enforcement requests.
How can you reduce what a travel eSIM reveals?
Use HTTPS and encrypted messaging for supported content. Mobile-link encryption protects the radio segment; it does not hide device identifiers or cell location from the network. A VPN can additionally protect traffic to the VPN endpoint, shifting trust to its provider. The destination and traffic timing or volume can still reveal information.
Review app permissions and account sign-ins. Separate user profiles can reduce sharing between apps, but do not hide the phone from the network. Check your exit-IP country after activation, and remember that an active home SIM creates its own roaming records.
Who is a no-ID eSIM for, and who is it not for?
It is for people who do not want to hand an identity document to an online shop. Typical users are travellers, journalists and NGO staff, people who avoid data collection, and users of privacy-focused phones such as GrapheneOS.
It is not for fraud, SIM farms, bulk account creation, spam, harassment or evading a court order. Our acceptable use policy forbids those uses. Our eSIMs are data only, with no phone number, so they cannot receive SMS codes.
What should I know about a no-ID purchase?
Can I buy an anonymous SIM card online?
You can buy from sellers that ask for no identity document, but the phone still connects through networks that record identifiers and cell location. UnlistedSIM offers data eSIMs without ID or email at checkout, from $1.09. Account, order and payment records remain; see what we collect.
Is a no-KYC eSIM anonymous?
No. No-KYC means no identity check at purchase. The eSIM still connects through mobile networks that see your device identifier (IMEI), the subscription identity (IMSI) and your approximate location. A crypto payment also stays visible on its public blockchain. At UnlistedSIM the account is a random number, not a name, and we keep the records listed on what we collect.
Does a new eSIM give my phone a new identity?
No. The IMEI belongs to the phone, not to the eSIM. If you install a new eSIM on the same phone, the network sees the same IMEI as before. A different eSIM changes the subscription identity (IMSI), and the phone number if there is one. It does not change the device. Our eSIMs are data only, with no phone number.
Does a VPN make an eSIM anonymous?
No. A VPN can protect traffic to its endpoint, while mobile-link encryption and HTTPS serve separate roles. Networks still see device and subscription identifiers, cell location and traffic to the VPN endpoint. The VPN provider can see destination metadata; HTTPS content remains protected where supported.
Can the police identify the user of a no-ID eSIM?
They can request what each party holds. Mobile networks hold device (IMEI) and location records. We hold an account number, orders with ICCIDs, the network-reported status and usage of each eSIM, top-up records with transaction IDs and logged-in devices. We hold no name and no ID, and an email only if you added one. We answer only legally binding orders under the law of Panama, where the operating company is registered. The details are on law enforcement requests. We do not help anyone evade the law.
Can I pay with Monero for more privacy?
Not at UnlistedSIM: we don't accept Monero (XMR). We accept Bitcoin (BTC), Tether (USDT), USD Coin (USDC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), Litecoin (LTC), which all run on public blockchains. Anyone can see the amount, the time and the sending address of a payment on those chains. Some other no-KYC sellers accept Monero, according to their own sites: see no-KYC eSIM sellers compared.
Does UnlistedSIM keep logs?
We keep account records, not browsing records: your account number, orders, top-ups, the status and data use of each eSIM, your logged-in devices and any optional email you add. Visitor IP addresses are not written to our web server access logs and are never attached to an account. Your traffic does not pass through us, so we cannot see the sites you visit, and our records hold no location history. Every field is listed on what we collect.
Is it legal to use an eSIM bought without ID?
We do not give legal conclusions. Check the country registry for the scope and date of each source. A local line, foreign travel profile, roaming connection and phone-registration requirement can have different rules. Entries marked unknown remain unconfirmed.
