Quick answer
Are eSIMs blocked in Turkey?
Some eSIM sellers report website and app blocks in Türkiye; access to UnlistedSIM from inside the country is untested. UnlistedSIM offers an eSIM without ID or email from $1.09. Checked 15 October 2026: Turkcell requires a passport for its local tourist eSIM. Buy and install before departure; service and long-stay roaming remain unverified.

Does a blocked seller website mean the eSIM itself is banned?
The sources describe access restrictions on sellers’ websites and apps, which are different from an installed profile’s ability to connect. We have not verified a complete current BTK block list or tested our website from Türkiye. We therefore give no legal conclusion or service guarantee.
Yesim’s published guide, an eSIM seller’s own account checked 15 October 2026, recommends buying and installing before arrival. This is seller guidance, not a field test of UnlistedSIM.
Can an eSIM installed before arrival keep working?
Sellers report that it can, but we have not tested UnlistedSIM service in Türkiye in this review. Successful installation also does not guarantee data access, future top-ups, support access or continuous long-stay service.
Install on Wi-Fi before departure, keep the account number and activation details available, and have another way to connect if the profile fails. Buy enough data for the intended trip because opening a seller’s checkout after arrival may not be possible. Do not delete a working profile.
What does a local tourist SIM or eSIM in Turkey require?
Turkcell’s own tourist offer, checked 15 October 2026, requires a passport for its local SIM or eSIM. Its app activation also calls for a chipped passport and NFC-capable phone, a liveness check and video acceptance. This describes a local subscription, not UnlistedSIM’s foreign travel profile.
UnlistedSIM requests no ID, selfie or email at checkout. Country and profile requirements remain separate; consult the Turkey country entry and country registry.
What is the difference between the 120-day phone rule and permanent roaming?
Phone-registration guidance often refers to a 120-day period for imported devices. We have not re-established every current exemption, fee or counting method from a current official notice, so we do not repeat conflicting registration fees as settled figures.
A separate BTK decision dated 20 September 2019 expressly discusses international permanent data roaming. Its English notice describes the same device accumulating 91 days within a 120-day period, with voice-service users excluded. The document contains transitional 2019 procedures and historical charges. We have not established its current enforcement or application to our profiles.
Does a foreign eSIM guarantee an exemption from phone registration?
No such guarantee is established by our evidence. The official BTK text explicitly discusses permanent data roamers; a claim that all foreign roaming is exempt is therefore too broad. At the same time, an older decision cannot establish the exact treatment of every traveller in 2026.
For long or repeated stays, ask the operator and BTK about the current device and roaming rules for the actual profile. We do not recommend a routing or SIM change as a way to avoid registration. See long stays.
What do UnlistedSIM Turkey data plans cost?
Data only, with no phone number. Prices come from the current catalogue. Minimum balance top-up $10; service and site access inside Türkiye were not field-tested in this review.
| Data | Validity | Price | Per GB | Network | Buy |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 GB | 7 days | $1.09 | $1.09/GB | Turkcell | Buy |
| 5 GB | 30 days | $5.69 | $1.14/GB | Turkcell | Buy |
| 10 GB | 30 days | $7.99 | $0.80/GB | Turkcell | Buy |
| 20 GB Best price per GB | 30 days | $14.39 | $0.72/GB | Turkcell | Buy |
| Unlimited (fair use: 2 GB/day at full speed) | 7 days | $17.29 | $2.47/day | Turkcell | Buy |
| Unlimited (fair use: 2 GB/day at full speed) | 30 days | $43.19 | $1.44/day | Turkcell | Buy |
No plan matches these filters: choose another amount or validity.
What should I do before travelling?
Check that the phone supports eSIM and is carrier-unlocked. Buy and install on Wi-Fi before departure, store the account number securely, and keep the installed profile. Choose the travel eSIM as the mobile-data line and allow roaming on that line when connecting.
Keep an appropriate separate voice line if you need calls or SMS: UnlistedSIM includes no phone number. Any plan labelled unlimited has a fair-use limit of 2 GB per day at full speed, then reduced speed. A plan’s validity is not a guarantee for permanent roaming.
What remains uncertain about eSIM use in Turkey?
Will my UnlistedSIM eSIM work in Turkey?
We have not field-tested our service in Türkiye in this review. The catalogue lists Turkey data plans, but this page does not guarantee network access or site availability. Install before departure and keep another way to connect.
Do I need a passport to buy from UnlistedSIM?
No. Our checkout requires no passport, identity document, selfie or email. A local operator’s tourist eSIM is different: Turkcell documents a passport requirement for its offer.
Is using a foreign eSIM in Turkey legal?
We do not give a legal conclusion. This guide reports the scope and dates of available sources. Seller-site access, subscription registration, phone registration and permanent roaming must be considered separately.
Can I assume roaming is exempt after 120 days?
No. A BTK decision from 2019 expressly addresses permanent data roaming at 91 accumulated days within 120 days. Its present application to our profiles is unknown; do not rely on a blanket exemption claim.
Does the eSIM include a Turkish number?
No. UnlistedSIM plans are data only, without a phone number, normal calls or SMS. Keep a suitable separate line if needed.
